According to Research Firm Deloitte, even if many companies are moving to the Cloud, data security remains a big problem for them.
Data security has always been a major concern for Companies but now that it is hosted on the Cloud, this is even more problematic.
Data is essential for a company- That's why those which choose Cloud Computing Solutions have to be sure about the Safety of their Cloud. Let's take the example of an hospital. This represents thousands of medical files and data. Any Data Loss could be a drama for someone's life if it resulted in a false diagnostic. A Data Loss could also be a dramatic situation for Banking or Financial Services.
Some Cloud are vulnerable- Like other Data Centers, the Clouds are also vulnerable to Data Loss, whether deliberately or by mistake. Therefore, it is important for Companies to invest in Data Loss Protection (DLP) solutions. This is even more than important -this is essential. That's why it should be the focus of debate.
Data still has to be saved- Before the Cloud, each Company used to make daily back-ups on hard desk. But now that we have the Cloud, some Companies have stopped the back-up Process and trust entirely their Provider. Providers can be trusted -well, not exactly all- but the only real Guarantee for you to keep your data saved is to make your own back-ups... whatever is the solution you have chosen.
