15 year afters it introduction, Javascript has surprisingly become a relevant platform for Enterprise computing and the fastest growing language for open source projects. Javascript is now used to develop desktop applications, mobile applications, application servers and even storage backends. Javascript is also one of the very few alternatives to run open souce sofware on iPhone without having to ask permission to Apple.
The goal of this conference is to provide an overview of the new land of opportunities of Javascript in the Enterprise. Can Javascript replace C++, Objective-C, python, Erlang, Java ? How fast and efficient is it ? Are there any advantages in declarative approaches such as AmpleSDK and XUL over imperative approaches such as ExtJS, Qooxdoo or GWT ? Can Javascript be secure or contribute to security ?
All questions, and even more, will be answered during the conference through the presentation of industrial case studies, followed by discussions with the attendance.
Location
The conference will be hosted on January 20th 2011 by Instititut Télécom, Paris. Seats are limited.
